Good morning folks!!
Monday night was speed work night at the track for my Pathways group. It was a great run!
Yesterday was the first of a new month and a day of many changes/firsts. So, I thought it would be a perfect day to try something new with my workout regimen. I started my day with a 5:45 am spin class at the gym. I haven't been to a spin class in over a year. I enjoyed it. It was challenging for me. But, I'm just not a morning girl in any way, shape, or form. I had to pack my work clothes and toiletries the night before. Then I had to get up at 4:15, pack my lunch, grab my Advocare Spark and my "stuff" and leave my house at 4:45 am to make it to the gym 45 miles away. It didn't really set the mood for the rest of my day as I had hoped it would. I was very irritable and I think it was because my morning routine was disrupted. I think I'm more of an afternoon or evening workout girl and I don't think that I'll be going back to spin or any other class that early in the morning again. :/
After work, I got in a little much needed retail therapy. Then I did a shoulder, biceps, and triceps circuit followed by an ab circuit. It felt good and my shoulders are sore this morning!!
Work was challenging yesterday and I'm expecting more of the same today and for many days to come. With the introduction of the Affordable Care Act and changes to Medicare requirements/reimbursement, my job is profoundly more difficult. For the first time in 20 years of nursing, I'm really nervous and seriously considering a career change.
I'm looking forward to my run with Pathways tonight. I'm running with the 10 minute mile pace group tonight. I sure hope I can keep up. We'll be going about 4 miles and I'm anticipating that we'll do hills. At least I've got an outlet for my work frustration!! Then, I'll be doing an Insanity workout. Gotta get this body in shape before the holidays!!
Make it a wonderful Wednesday!!
Do you prefer morning, afternoon, or evening workouts??
Without a doubt, I'm a morning worker-outer. I just feel so drained toward the end of the day that it's hard for me to get out for a run or to the gym. Admittedly, it gets harder to get out of my cozy bed as the temperature drops! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi, thanks for stopping by. I think the getting out of the cozy bed is what prevents me from being more if a morning person :-)
