Happy Hump Day!! We're already halfway through the first full week of the new year! How are you all doing on those New Year's resolutions??
Truth be told, I'm not doing so good on my cross training "resolution" As I've said several times, I don't really make resolutions. I like to think of myself as a constant work in progress, meaning that I set goals and am constantly evaluating and re-evaluating them, making adjustments if necessary. And that's exactly what I'm going to have to do regarding cross training.
I was on the wagon pretty well last summer and fall and then I fell off. For whatever reason, I just can't seem to get myself back up there!! I keep telling myself that I'll workout tonight but it doesn't happen. I know it's important!! It's really difficult for me to find motivation to work out with the cold, bad weather that we've had lately. When I get home from work, all I want to do is put on my pajamas and sit in my chair. I think, in order to get back on the wagon, I'm going to have to change my workout routine to going to the gym on my lunch break instead of after work. I'm also going to treat myself to a new workout program to help inspire me. The new P90X3 was released by Beachbody recently. I've been wanting to try it. It might just be the boost I need to get back on track!
I'm scheduled to run 4 miles tonight. We're having a Pathways coaches meeting at 6pm and we're supposed to run after that. I'm not sure that will happen because we're supposed to have sleet and freezing rain. Maybe I'll arrive early and hit the treadmill before the meeting. In the event that I'm not able to run, I think I'll try this cardio workout instead:
I tell my Pathwayers this all the time. I need to convince myself regarding my cross training!!
Ok folks, have a wonderful Wednesday! Stay warm and stay safe!!
What helps you stay motivated??
I had to start getting up before the sun in order to get my workouts in for the same reason you don't get yours in. When I get home from work, the last thing I want to do exercise.
ReplyDeleteGood luck finding a good routine for you! Congrats on getting promoted!
I usually prefer to workout at home and after work is usually best for me but it's apparent I need to shake it up right now. I just found out that they've added an evening a spin class at my gym, maybe that will help
DeleteI don't know how you working women do it! I'm actually not sure how I did it when I originally lost the weight eight years ago (with a new baby and four other young kids). While life can still get a bit crazy, I actually have quite a bit of it now as all the boys are in school. And with a home gym ... I have NO excuses whatsoever. I sure do admire you women who work AND workout!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jen. I think working out helps calm my crazy!
DeleteMy jeans keep me motivated, I don't want to have to buy new ones :) that and I just love running such great stress relief. I also just love the feeling of being a strong woman.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great motivator! Jeans are too expensive!
DeleteSounds like you have a good plan! Don't allow yourself to make excuses - that's what always gets me!
ReplyDeleteObviously me too :) I'm looking forward to the new evening spin classes at my gym. That should help
